YOU SPLURGE.
and that's exactly what we did at a lovely little French place called Soleil Westwood. We were rejected on Saturday at the airport counter & re-rejected at the consulate this morning. This was all really my mom's idea, but I think my brother & I just went along with it because we secretly felt so bad for her. She worked towards this trip for months & it seems unfortunate that we weren't able to go. I say "seems," because I know with all my heart that God had a great purpose for us not going. So anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I have found a new love. And its called "Poutin." aka Fries + a whole lotta other stuff. If you've never tried Poutin before, PLEASE DO! You feel like you're eating half a stick of butter but it's just soooo worth it!

2. le crepe al poulet? (chicken & mushroom + french crepe + garlic butter cream sauce)
3. my brother's poutin which of COURSE he would get the one with filet mignon. also had mushrooms & a cream sauce.
4. my poutin (poutin Christine) w/ cheese curds, and a cream peppercorn sauce. omg it was delicious! it had SOO much butter / oil that I'm sure Paula Deen was back in the kitchen sneakin' it in there.
5. my fav. drink in the whole universe. i'm always too cheap to get it, but since we were splurging..here it is.
6. Caramel Macaron! I've never been intrigued or drawn to macarons..and always thought they were way too sweet.. but.. mmm. I am now a believer! This caramel was slightly burnt so it was SO SO SO delicious. Forget cupcakes, macarons are now my new fave! <33
The whole bill came out to be $44.95 (OUCH!) but I guess its okay that its only once in a blue moon. Now we're back to our normal lives, and I am a perfectly happy girl with that :)
